Mod Podge Fun!

So lately I have been looking at all sorts of crafty blogs. On Make it and Love it, there was a blog where you can mod podge some fun shoes. Here's the blog. I stole the idea and tried it one some of mine. Mine didn't turn out as good. My exacto knife didn't seem to want to work so the edges are not straight, but I could totally wear these with a pair of jeans and no one would know the difference. I think I'm in love with mod podge! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!!

Before (honestly ugly shoes, but they were 70% off at DSW when I bought them. Couldn't pass up a deal!)

After! Much more versatile and go with so many things!!

Beauty Shop!

So today I decided that Lilly's hair was long enough to put in a ponytail. We had lots of fun playing beauty shop. But I think she was more interested in the brush than the ponytail.

I then had to add a bow! Isn't she cute?

Isaac wasn't as interested in it as we girls were! But I still think he's pretty handsome!

You mean I have to use this to brush my hair?

Catching up

So it's been awhile since my last post. The kids are keeping me super busy.

Some new happenings with them is Lilly is babbling more. She is saying mama and dada and a bunch of other gibber gabber, but she knows that Jeremy andI are mama and dada, so that's kinda fun for us. She has also been eating much better. She's had several feeding issues due to reflux and being a premie. But she has started eating her pureed baby food much better. She actually finishes a whole jar at a time...Big step for her. She also is eating cheerios and baby puffs and NOT throwing up....an even bigger step for her. We are so excited about this!!!

Isaac is all over the place. He is nothing but B-O-Y!!! He is into everything. He is starting to stand alone for a few seconds at a time. He'll be walking before we know. Scary!!! He loves to climb onto the fireplace....along with Lilly also. He's starting to mimic Lilly's strange little crawl for those of you who know what that looks like. He took his diaper off today in his crib. He's also been getting lots of little booboos. It's kinda sad. He's busted his lip twice and today, I had a bad mommy moment and left the camera strap dangling where he could reach it and the camera came down right on his eye. So sad. I felt HORRIBLE!! If we take him out, people will think we beat our child...oh goodness. I'll leave you with some pictures over the past month or so. Enjoy!

playing with the dirty clothes!!!

Don't you just love sleeping babies??

She's quite animated!

What?!?!
His booboo from the camera. So sad!

Summer Fun!

My friend Amy and her little girl Sage came over to swim with Isaac and Lilly. Lilly and Sage loved the pools. Isaac is still unsure about all this water business. But he loves bathtime. Boys are weird. The girls were crawling from pool to pool and sometimes towards the alley or the plants. They were little explorers. Isaac on the other hand stayed in his one spot the entire time in the pool. Eventually, I put him in the swing and he was MUCH happier there!

Mermaid or Penguin?

I think Lilly is telling us what she wants to be for Halloween. Mermaid or Penguin? Anyways, this is how she woke up yesterday morning. Isn't that funny!

Vacation

Jeremy and I went to Playa del Carmen on vacation this past week. It was so nice! We stayed at an all inclusive resort and did absolutely nothing. The only thing we did was go into Playa one day to buy soveniers for our family. It was nice to get away and be able to sleep in and hang out at the pool or beach and drink our fruity slushy drinks. They were super yummy. We have a pool/ocean view from our room. We didn't expect that at all. We can't wait to go back!!! Here are a few pics, you can go to our picasa link to see all of the pictures.

Jeremy and I going to dinner at the resort

We took a walk on a pier that goes out into the ocean. This was the beautiful water!

It's birthday month here in the Goss household. Yes all 4 of us have birthday's this month. Lilly and Isaac celebrated thier 1st birthday over the weekend! We had so much fun! We are so thankful for our babies! We couldn't imagine our lives without them. There are a few pictures below from the party. You can go to our picasa sight for more pictures.

I turn, I don't even wanna say it, 30 today. How did that happen? I thought I would always be in my 20s. Guess I have to grow up at some point. Jeremy's birthday will be the 24th of this month. On his birthday, we are supposed to be in Mexico. We'll see though with all this swine flu!
I hope we make it because we both need a vacation so bad!!

Movers and Shakers

So the last few days have seen a lot of new developments with Isaac and Lilly. More with Isaac than anything. Over the last few days, he has figured out how to pull up in his crib, on some big toys in the house, and he has started to crawl! Yikes. He pulls up in his crib all the time, so it's starting to make naptime difficult. It took him an hour to finally fall asleep for his nap today. Oh goodness! I think my hands are really going to be full soon! Isaac's also trying to feed himself with finger foods but not very successful with it yet. He hasn't really learned how to hold the food just right yet.

Lilly has started sitting on her own in her bed and when we go in there, she's so proud of herself to be sitting there. She's starting to crawl a little bit. She'll do a few crawls and then fall on her tummy, so next week I think she'll be right along with big brother!

Such a big boy!

I can pull up ALL by myself! He loves the monkey on this toy.

Look at me, Mom!

I can pull up too!

Bluebonnets

I love this time of year. The weather is starting to warm up, trees and growing their leaves back, and bluebonnets are blooming!! My best friend and college roommate, Lisa, was in town from California. We took Isaac and Lilly to get their pictures in the bluebonnets. It's just a good Texas thing to do. We had so much fun. The kids were amazed at the flowers. Lilly could not take her eyes off of them. If you notice in the pictures, we could not get her to look at the camera for anything. She was way more interested in the bluebonnets, than taking a silly picture. Enjoy the pictures. You can go to our picasa site for all our bluebonnet pics.

Me with the kiddos.
OH! What are these blue things??

I was at least able to get Isaac to look at the camera.

Aren't they the cutest things ever!

One Year

So today is the year anniversary of when I was admitted into the hospital to be put on bedrest. Not the happiest time in mine and Jeremy's life but something that built us together as a couple with the early arrival of Isaac and Lilly. I've been a little nostalgic today thinking of everything that Jeremy and I went through and can't believe that it's been a year. When Isaac and Lilly were in the NICU it seemed that time had stopped and we were never going to be out of there. I remember being told that one day our time in the NICU would be just a small memory and I remember thinking when are we going to get there or ARE we going to get there. We feared for Isaac and Lilly's lives everyday they were there. But God was good and he continued to develop them outside of me (which is amazing!). Jeremy and I are so grateful for things that I think we take for granted in our children, like lungs that work, and digestive systems that work properly. I don't think you appreciate the small things until you see your child struggle to breathe daily and struggle to keep food down or to digest correctly. I still sometimes wonder why God had us go through such a horrible experience. I don't know if I'll ever know, but there are many things that I learned along the way. For instance, I learned that I have no control over the events in my life. I had no control over whether Lilly was going to have a massive brady and turn blue but God taught me to trust him, and I think that's the biggest lesson learned is trust. We have to trust him daily. The control is not ours but God's. He taught me to let go and to not worry (as much as I tried to not). God gave Jeremy and I amazing peace through the whole experience. We felt peace and we knew that had to be of God. I think of the verse that says to "count it all joy when you experience trials and tribulations" and through all the pain and scariness that we experienced, we were at peace and we knew we would bring our children home with us. I think our relationship with the Lord was made one step stronger than it was before all this happened, but we still have a long way to go, as the saying goes, we are a work in progress. Is that not the truth! We are so thankful to the Lord that he chose to save Isaac and Lilly physically. Our prayer now is that he will choose to save them spiritually!

Cribs and Legs

So last night, Jeremy had just got home from work and the kids were a little grumpy so we put them down for a short nap. They both complained about it but usually they go right to sleep. I think Isaac might have drifted off at some point, but Lilly kept crying and fussing in her bed. We ignored it and ate our dinner because we just thought she was mad at us for putting in her bed. Well she won the argument and so we went in to get her and this is what we found:

No wonder she was fussing. She backed that thing up and got stuck in her crib. Sorry baby girl!

Trip to Alabama

Last Saturday we left for Alabama. My grandparents live there so it was time to show them their great-grandchildren. They were so excited to finally meet Isaac and Lilly! While we were there, we had a big family lunch on my mom's side. A lot of aunts, uncles, and cousins came. Some of them I haven't seen in years so that was nice. Then we drove on down to Mississippi. My other grandmother on dads side is staying at my aunt and uncles house. My grandmother turned 81 while we were there, so we all celebrated by going to a seafood restaurant. We also went to Bellingrath gardens while we were there. It was absolutely beautiful! The azaleas were blooming and I think those have to be the prettiest flowers ever. It was a 12 hour drive and I have to say that the babies did an awesome job being stuck in a car seat for that long! They hardly fussed at all. We are so glad to be back here in Texas.

Day at the park

We went to Kid's Kingdom yesterday with our friend Amy and her little girl Sage. This was the first time for Isaac and Lilly to swing! I think they really enjoyed it!

Swinging together!

Isaac doesn't look to sure about this, but he loved it!
