I'm such a bad blogger

I think the title says it all, I'm not good at blogging but I love looking at everyone else's! But here is a weight loss update. I have lost 8 pounds since January and since May of last year I have lost 17 pounds, still have lots to go, but I am running 3 days a week and about 2 1/4 miles each time! I signed up for a 5K in July (am I crazy or what?!?)

Isaac and Lilly are very active 2 year olds (sounds weird to say that). They have found all sorts of ways to scale our furniture making us rearrange our furniture numerous times!

Isaac is finally starting to speak more words. His new ones lately are Doggy (sounds like daddy) and Wow! He's such a lover of food. Just about everytime it's time to eat, when he sits down and sees the food his reaction either, wow, wow! or M..M..M!!! It's so funny! He's also finally learned the word NO also. He quite forcefully used it on me the other day while hitting me. Nice, huh?

Lilly had her feeding evaluation a week and a half ago and it's determined that she has oral sensory aversion. Basically meaning she doesn't like anything to be put near her mouth. Not sure when therapy for her will start, but once it does she will be seen by an occupational therapist 2-3 times a week, a speech therapist to work on her feeding 2-3 times a week, and a psychologist once a week to learn new behaviors when it comes to eating. Her amount of eating is like a roller coaster for us. Some days she eats good (even though it's still not a lot, but good for her) and then there are days where she eats maybe 2 bites. So now she's having nights where she wakes up twice a night for milk. But you would never know looking at her that she's got this feeding issue. She's a quite healthy VERY active little girl. She is on the go all day long. Her favorite words are puppy, or "what is that?" She likes to carry a purse around with her too!She loves ELMO.

I think it's funny that Isaac says doggy and Lilly says puppy....they're so different in just about every way possible. Here's some recent pics of the kiddos.

Lilly's skirt

Had to post a pic of Lilly's skirt I made yesterday. I am quite proud of it! It was super easy to make too! I was supposed to put pockets on it, but I made one and it was too big, so I ditched the idea. Maybe i'll add them later! Here's the link to where I got the idea. I would make a bow to match but she likes to pull them out, so one day she'll wear those bows!

Lilly modeling the new skirt!
She's already accessorising.

Next Top Model?

Lilly got into Isaac's pj drawer and came out wearing them like a fur. I think she's got a future in modeling!

Isaac came out maybe 5 minutes later or so and was modeling Lilly's green pjs! He's got the face of a future model. Don't ya think?

in weight loss news, I can now fit into 2 pairs of my pre pregnancy pants! 5 pounds lost so far!

Stuff

So last week I lost 2 pounds! Wahoo!!! That's how much I lost in January. I am super excited about that. I honestly didn't think I would lose that much because of all the yummy goodness at the super bowl party, but I did. I was able to do my 3 runs and my 2 shape workouts. I might be changing my shape workouts a tad. I've done my first run of the week and can I say it completely kicked my butt. The run is: 5 min. warm up walk, run 3 min, walk 90 sec, run 5 minutes, walk 2 1/2 minutes and repeat. I ran about 97% of it. The last 5 minute section I had to stand on the side rails for about 10 seconds twice, but other than that I did it all. Jeremy and I have made a pretty good schedule that works for us, so we are both able to hit the gym. Oh and here is the website I get some healthy recipes from. Some favorites of ours is the garlic roasted chicken and bourbon chicken.

On Isaac and Lilly, they are super active and busy! I'll leave you with some recent pictures of
them.

Notice the white basket? He used that to climb onto the chair! He's a climbing machine these days! He uses that white basket A LOT!

Getting into the wipes warmer! Isaac climbed onto the rocker and knocked down the wipes warmer and fun ensued! Lilly is probably the one mainly responsible for tearing them into little tiny pieces!

weight loss progress/ February goals

So I started out January 2010 weighing 188 and am starting February 2010 186. I lost 2 pounds this month.....not a whole lot, but it's progress. I honestly thought I would've lost more since I went from basically not exercising to exercising 3 times a week. Maybe my metabolism is super slow, but I do feel better and feel a bit more toned. My jeans are fitting better, so it's going. Actually the first week of January when I started exercising i lost 2 pounds right off. But then my Aggie girls from college had our annual reunion in the middle of January. I had tons of fun! But my 2 pounds came back on. So I started back at it and have lost 1 pound a week the past 2 weeks.

Jeremy and I have been trying to eat better at home. We have "The Best Life" cookbook so use some of those recipes and my good friend Kristin gave me a lowfat cooking website she uses and have found lots of recipes there that are good.

I started the from couch to 5k that Jill Le told me about. I did the first two weeks and then on week 3, I got sick, so I didn't exercise only once last week. I am starting back on week 3 and hope to ready to run for our Lifegroup 5K in March.

My goals for January were to exercise 4 times a week and read the book of Romans. I actually met those goals!

So February goals are to run/walk 3 times a week, do my "Shape" magazine workout twice a week at home, read 1&2 Timothy, and memorize 2 bible verses.

Monthly goals have been good for me. I always get overwhelmed by super long term goals, so setting short term goals work much better for me. I like even more that I'm not putting an amount of pounds that I want to lose in a month. I like the goals of what I'm going to do to lose the weight or to get healthy. Its easier for me to track that honestly.....I would get discouraged when I wouldn't lose weight in the amount of time I gave myself.

I'm trying to be better at updating the blog so hopefully I'll update about this again soon and not at the beginning of March.

Drawer Time Fun

A few weeks ago, I was going through Isaac and Lilly's clothes. I had a drawer out on the floor completely empty, so Lilly decided to get in it. Those are the most fun toys at our house these days! But then Isaac decided to join her. These two are so fun together! Isaac loves to sit in a container if Lilly is in it!

Lilly is chewing on the knob to the drawer.

Alright Lilly are you ready to go?

They look like big kids here! No more baby faces. So sad!

I have absolutely no idea what Lilly is doing here, or neither does Isaac for that matter.

Hi Mom!

Here goes nothing

So normally at the beginning of a new year I start to think about resolutions. I never make them really because who keeps them anyway? I try to set goals only to always fail. They're always goals that are achievable and realistic, so why are they never met? After thinking about this over the past month or so I've come to realize that I am apathetic. Which to me is a very dangerous place to be. So my friend Lisa from college and I have decided to have monthly goals and to keep each other accountable and for real this time. We've done this before but kinda forgot about the accountable part and then lost the motivation to keep the goal. So my big goal for 2010 is to lose 40-45 lbs. Now I always get inspired by watching The Biggest Loser. I always think I nowhere near as big as these people and if they can do so can I. Well this last season, there was one girl, who was bigger than me, but not much. My gosh, I think I could be big enough to get on that show! How embarrasing! So to keep myself accountable even more so I will use this blog to share my journey. But I want to do even more, I have a sick to my stomach feeling now just typing this, but I am going to share my weight...AHHH!!! Now that's even more embarrasing to me! So here goes.....(deep sigh). I weigh 188. There I said it (acutally typed, but who cares). Yes I weigh more than some men do. I weighed so much more after the babies were born. Those cute little humans have completely rearranged body parts in ways that are NOT normal. Add on not taking care of myself or watching what I've eaten (because I never cared, due to the apathy), so my goals for January are to exercise 4 times a week and to read the book of Romans (another area I am apathetic). I think of Paul, when talking about beating your body into submission and that is what I'm going to have to do. So friends who read my blog, I am asking for encouragement and prayers. I am tired of being the "fat girl" and would like to do a 5K soon. Not to neccesarily run one yet, but that would be nice! But that would be a great goal is to run a 5K without stopping by the beginning of summer! My ramblings have taken on enough and I'm sure my spazzed out thoughts are not very cohesive but this is what's going on with me and now I have to be even more accountable!
